Compression load cells: purpose
Compression load cells are designed for the direct measurement of compressive forces acting on structural elements, such as piles, struts, arches, and support structures.
How it works
When subjected to load, the cell undergoes elastic deformation, which is detected by electrical strain gauges arranged in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. This converts the deformation into an electrical signal proportional to the applied force.
Multi-strain-gauge configuration
The multi-strain-gauge configuration compensates for unwanted effects, such as bending or non-uniform load distribution, ensuring high measurement accuracy and reliability.
Construction
The stainless-steel construction and high robustness make the instrument suitable for long-term installations, even under high-load conditions.
