Resistive strain gauge

Resistive strain gauge: how it works

Based on a Wheatstone bridge configuration with integrated strain gauges, the sensor detects deformation through variations in electrical resistance and provides a proportional output signal in mV/V.

Operation and installation

The gauges operate in both tension and compression and are suitable for installation on steel structures or for embedding in concrete, ensuring versatility across a wide range of structural monitoring applications. They are particularly suitable for high-frequency monitoring applications, such as pile testing.

Construction

The robust housing and resin encapsulation of the sensing element provide protection against impact, moisture, and harsh environmental conditions, enabling reliable operation on construction sites.

Applications

Thanks to their fast response, these instruments are particularly suitable for pile/load testing and other applications requiring high-frequency measurements.
