Tilt beam sensor

Tilt beam sensors: purpose

The tilt beam sensors are instruments designed for the automated monitoring of structural inclinations and the indirect measurement of differential settlements along linear structures, enabling the reconstruction of deformation profiles over long distances.

How it works

The instrument consists of a rigid beam, available in different lengths, equipped with a high-precision inclinometer, typically based on electrolytic technology. The beams can be installed as standalone units or connected in series to form a continuous measurement chain capable of providing a complete deformation profile along the monitored structure.

Applications

The system is particularly suitable for angular measurements within very small measurement ranges, where high sensitivity is required. Variations in the inclination of each segment are measured and converted into differential displacement values, allowing settlements, rotations, and deformations to be detected with high reliability.
